Roaming the posh backroads of Chestnut Hill, MA, the wild turkey is no longer front page-making news in the Boston area. Once a rarity in Massachusetts, the wild turkey is now a fixture amongst the woods and stately homes in the towns ringing Boston.
Driving down the street during a visit to Boston during Christmas, we happened upon a rafter of turkeys that seemed not at all unused to having a camera shoved in front of their turkey faces. I had been expecting a more aggressive reaction following some tv coverage of some unusually vicious turkeys that had chased and attacked pedestrians in not-so-distant Brookline.
But they just posed and mugged for the camera.
